All Road Communications Wins Tattoo on Head of Driving For Donor's
Pat Pedraja
San Diego, CA (PRWeb) December 8, 2006 -- San Diego based All Road Communications, http://www.allroadsat.com,
America's leading Satellite Phone Rental & Sales company, is delighted
to announce it is the winning bidder in the Driving For Donors, http://www.drivingfordonors.com eBay
auction. The auction, which closed on December 6th, was for the right to
place a tattoo on the forehead of Leukemia patient Pat Pedraja, the brave
11 year old Florida native behind Driving for Donors.
"I read about the auction online, and I just had to bid," said All
Road's Chris Hoar. "I thought that Pat's idea was very creative, and my
company and I are very proud to be a sponsor."
All Road's winning bid was $5,100, and will entitle them to an ad space on Pat's
head where they can place a temporary tattoo for about 2 months. Pat sold advertising
on his head in order to raise money to pay tissue typing fees that are necessary
to add donors to the National Marrow Registry.
"The tattoo we will send Pat to wear will simply be our website address,
http://www.allroadsat.com.
If it will help get even more exposure I will even shave my own head and put
a tattoo of Pat's site on my forehead," said Hoar.
Pat and the whole Driving for Donors Team will be doing a cross country tour
to bring awareness to the need for bone marrow donors. Starting on May 15, 2007,
they will go from coast to coast holding bone marrow drives to add potential
donors to the Registry. Pat's goal is to add 2007 new donors in 2007. To make
sure that they will also have phone service on the trip, All Road also donated
an Iridium 9505A Satellite Phone to Pat. "I am so excited that All Road
Communications was the winning bidder," said Pat Pedraja. "Their support
and generosity will help us make Driving For Donors a success. It is nice to
know that we will be working together to save lives."
"Many parts of the United States do not have cell phone service, but now
Pat has a Satellite Phone he will always be able to make and receive calls, wherever
he is," said Hoar.
"Our strongest hope here is that other companies will follow our lead and
sponsor Pat and his family on this mission, it seems like a great fit for many
many companies," said Hoar.
